Child and Family Services: Emerson families have access to a variety of family supports that are designed to assist students and their families. We believe that they are a part of the Emerson team as we work together to help students be successful.
This is information to the general public to notify the District if they know of any child (ages 0-21) with suspected disabilities, i.e. physical, mental, emotional or learning handicaps and who is in need of services within our district:
Child Find is a component of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and is an ongoing process of locating, identifying, and evaluating children between the ages of 0 and 21 who may need special education and related services. “All children with disabilities, residing in Tulsa Public School District, whether attending public or private schools, should be identified, located and evaluated.” This service is provided to children with disabilities, free of charge. If you would like more information on Child Find, contact Kay Sandschaper at 746-6376 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Gifted and Talented serves every child in Tulsa Public Schools who shows evidence of high performance capability in areas such as intellectual, creative, artistic, or leadership capacity, or in specific academic areas and who requires learning opportunities or experiences not ordinarily provided by the school in order to fully develop such capabilities, is eligible for nomination and referral for participation in the Gifted and Talented program. This is an attempt to locate those children in order to assist in providing these services. If you are aware of a gifted or talented child in need of differentiated instruction, please contact Laura Beltran (email@example.com) 918-925-1320 of Gifted and Talented to initiate the identification process.
