Students and team members from Emerson Elementary gathered in the auditorium alongside representatives from Oklahoma State University-Tulsa to celebrate the kickoff of their new partnership. After remarks from both TPS and OSU-Tulsa staff, the Emerson Step Team performed for the crowd.
This partnership is a way for OSU-Tulsa to help students in their educational journey through tutoring, workshops, and more. They hope to create an environment where students can picture their future in education and what college could look like for them.
Representatives from the Tulsa Oilers also announced that they would be participating by hosting a contest for students. The class with the highest attendance rate each month will win tickets to an oilers game. At the end of the school year, there will be a grand prize of a hockey themed party for the overall winning class.
