Lower elementary teacher Hanna Al-Jibouri has been selected as the 2022-2023 Emerson Teacher of the Year!
This is Hanna's eleventh year teaching for Tulsa Public Schools and her second year at Emerson. As a lower elementary teacher in Emerson's Montessori program, she teaches 1st through 3rd grade students reading, writing, history, and geography.
"I wanted to be a teacher because I have always loved school and feel like education is something so powerful that can never be taken from us," she said. "My favorite part of my job is helping a child grow and them becoming proud of their growth!"
One of her nominators said: "She brings joy and positivity daily to her students and coworkers. She leads by example. She is an organized and efficient teacher/leader but is also the most funny and fun loving person. I feel so lucky to teach alongside her. She is one of the best humans I know."
